Herman Johnson

Herman was born on December 17, 1933 in Gretna, Louisiana to Perry and Ada Johnson. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and went on to serve 26 years. A Colorado Springs, Colorado resident since 1969, Herman was awarded the Bronze Star and several other service commendations and then fulfilled 20 years of civil service after his military retirement. He enjoyed bowling, working on his yard, cooking, watching sports and, above all, family time.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa; two sons, Kermit and Edwin; two daughters, Demetria (Antoine) Jackson, and Sonja. He also leaves behind six grandchildren; Alida, La’Shaunda, Jennifer (Ricky), Jordan, Imani and Darius; eight great-grandchildren; sister Vera Harrison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers Aaron, Roland, Joseph, Perry Jr. (Bobby), and Albert; and sister Earlene.

A viewing will take place on Tuesday, July 31st from 11:00 to 12:00 with the service immediately following at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
