My big sister

As children Sharon was my closest sibling. She was 6 years older than I was but she always found time to play with me and help with my homework. When our mother passed, when I was 10 years old, we became even closer. She helped fill the void created by our mothers passing. She helped cook, clean, do laundry and made sure I got to school on time. She was more than a house helper she was my friend. She help me with my first girl crush, being bullied and she even taught me how to dance. She taught me the Swing and the Bop and she even taught me to slow dance. We used to laugh an awful lot because I had no sense of rhythm, she was taller than me and we would trip and stumble all around the living room. Even after Sharon married and moved away she showed her love by being there on special occasions. I always knew she cared because she cried when I graduated high school, she cried when I went into the military and she cried the day I got married. She was my sister and I was her little brother but she was always a special friend. Although our lives took us in different directions and over the years we had little contact I knew she was there. Even today I can still think about her and a smile comes to my face remembering the special times we shared that  belonged to only her and I. I love you Sis and will miss you deeply. This is not goodbye but only so long till we someday meet again.
