Obituary for Ruth Dorothea Wilson (Graff)

Ruth Dorothea Graff was born to Charles and Regina (nee Scheuerl) Graff on July 24, 1924 in New York, NY as one of three children. She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed April 2, 1937 at St. Simeons Episcopal Church. She then attended Walton High School in the New York City public school system.

Following her education she became an employee of the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board where she met her future husband Walter Wilson of Brooklyn, NY and was married on February 8, 1948 in St. James Episcopal Church.

Ruth left her employment to become a full time loving wife and a devoted mother to her three children, namely James Walter, Robert Charles, and Ruth Frances McCormick. She was also the loving grandmother to Ahren and Sasha Wilson, and to Michael and Heather McCormick, as well as great-grandmother to 9 great grandchildren.

After her children attained adulthood Ruth returned to the business world and worked as secretary to the Christian Day School of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Yonkers, NY where she was a communicant and a member of ladies groups.

Ruth lived in Colorado Springs since 1984 and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

During her life on this earth Ruth was fortunate to enjoy good health and after attaining the age of 94 was called to her Heavenly Fathers reward.

She is being laid to rest with her husband Walter of 56 years at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
