Obituary for Simon Espinoza

Simon was born in Trinidad, Colorado on February 6, 1926 to Phillip Espinoza and Elvira Lopez.

Simon served in the Army and fought in WWII in the South Pacific. He worked for the City of Trinidad as a Maintainer Operator until he transferred to Colorado Springs where he also worked for the City until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked for Red Noland Cadillac as a courtesy driver.

Simon was Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Trinidad.

Western movies were his all-time favorite and he loved to dance.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bertha Garcia. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eleanora; his brother, Fermin (Marie) and a sister, Lilly Sandoval. Also surviving are his children, Thomas (Sandi), Kenneth (Linda), Donald (Margie), Lori (Dennis) Guerin and Pauline (Val) Wilson. Simon leaves behind five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 9-11 AM with a Funeral Service following at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue. A Celebration of Life will follow the services at Eagles Lodge, 1050 S. 21st St.

Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

Simon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
