Michael Whitt was a resident of Manitou Springs for over 30 years. He passed away on September 10th 2018. Michael was born in Colorado Springs on June 10th 1983, but moved to Manitou Springs when he was five years old. Here he spent his time in the Manitou Springs School District participating in things like choir, where his natural musical talent was able to shine. His true love, though, was baseball.
From a very young age, Michael had developed an affinity toward the classic American sport. He played from t-ball age to the Manitou Springs High School team, and then on to college at Trinidad State. To him, the field was his home and you never saw him without a baseball cap on his head. Michael moved to Fort Collins and started his work as a bouncer at various bars. He always took his jobs very seriously, and that became obvious to anyone that had the chance to work with him throughout the years. He moved on to work in security, and eventually at his favorite place to relax, Tinseltown. You could always depend on Michael to let you know what new movies were coming out.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Whitt. He is survived by his father, George Whitt; his two siblings, Ryan and Claire Whitt; his niece, Alexis Bitz-Whitt; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Blunt Mortuary 2229 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs on September 17th at 6pm. Services will be held at Community Congregational Church 103 Pawnee Ave, Manitou Springs on September 18th at 10:00am.
