On the 11th of May 2018, George Torres was called home to rest in the arms of God.
At the age of 83, he is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Louise Torres. Together they raised their two children, son, Daniel Lee Torres and daughter Belinda Louise Torres. In addition to his wife and children he is survived by two granddaughters, Camille (Keith) Lipps and Brianna (Thomas) Russell; five great-grandchildren; Isabella, Aliyah, Gabriel, Nevaeh and M’Kayla; sister-in-law Lulu Wegrzyn and a host of relative and friends.
George was born October 1, 1934 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to George and Josephine Torres. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School now known as General William Palmer High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 4 years. He retired after 38 years of civil service at the Air Force Academy.
George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and friend. He had a generous and loving spirit and was deeply loved by all who knew him. George’s favorite thing was to spend time with his family creating memories.
Special thanks to Lulu Wegrzyn for helping the family through this difficult time.
