Obituary for Soon ""Kang"" Stuckey

Soon ""Kang"" Stuckey
Soon Stuckey passed peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2017. She was a long time resident of the Widefield Security area for 50+ years.

She came from Gyeongju, Korea where her parents owned a persimmon farm. She was the youngest of four children. During the Korean war, she had to leave her home and travel many miles to safety with her family.

In Korea, she met her one and only husband, Oben Stuckey. They lived in a small trailer in the Fountain area, moved to Colorado Springs for a short time, and then eventually bought a house on Metropolitan Street where they lived for over 40 years.

She was a dedicated employee to the Hewlett Packard Company and retired in 1990. Following her retirement, she enjoyed socializing with friends, gardening, walking the neighborhood, and doting on her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, all siblings, and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Nora (Andrews) and her son-in -law, Jackson. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Taeya and Jaxon.

Services will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home located at 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. 80910 at 1:00PM, Wednesday, March 8, 2017. A reception will follow (to be announced).
