Obituary for Henry Marvin "Butch" Ragland

Henry M. "Butch" Ragland passed away at home on November 18. He was born in Newport News, VA on October 5, 1945 to Henry O. and Carrie E. Ragland. He graduated from Newport News High School and served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Afterward, he worked for the Newport News police department. In 1977 he moved to Colorado Springs to attend the Nazarene Bible College. There he met his wife Ethel, so he chose to make Colorado his home. They were married in 1981 and raised their two children, Jonathan and Carrie. While living in Colorado Springs, he worked for Penrose Hospital Security and the Department of Corrections. After his retirement he went on to open his own retail and security businesses. Butch loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, tinkering with computers and connecting with all of his friends on Facebook.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, his son Jonathan (Diana), daughter Carrie, brother Chuck (Patty), and grandchildren Travis, Charlotte and Jaxon.

Cremation will be handled by Blunt Mortuary and a memorial service will he held at a later date.
